Delta Dental of Wisconsin Foundation launched the Smile Club, a dental clinic within the Boys & Girls Club of Portage County in which a full-time hygienist offers preventive services and volunteer dentists provide treatment. More than half of the children receiving services at Smile Club have untreated caries, almost all of whom have Medicaid coverage or are uninsured. In addition to receiving care, the children served participate in fun activities to help them understand the importance of good oral health to lay the foundation for a lifetime of healthy smiles.
